About Acumetric
Acumetric as a concept and a company was forged in a series of legislative efforts that sought to improve the data storage practices of various governmental entities in Minnesota.
Working at the friction point where politics, economics, technology, and the market intersect, our founders quickly learned that a host of constraints need to be carefully evaluated when looking for the best data preservation strategy.
For these reasons Acumetric is data format neutral in recognition of the fact that the world is complex and unpredictable.
While we have our recommended data formats that today appear to fulfill the promise of long lasting accessibility, we also understand it is less about specific data formats then the options data formats offer. We will continually review and alter our recommendations based on solid, verifiable and on-going analyses.
The photo that appears on all of the Acumetric pages is the great grandfather of one of our founders. Our interest in digital preservation, consequently, is both personal and professional, and in all ways we are in the same boat as our users.
